Race Format 2017

Changes to the race format have been developed for the 2016 race year and beyond. Following is a summary of what this format will look like next year

The race will be changed to a category format:

  1. Mini Schuss, Classed by Gender, ages 10 through 13
  2. Snowboard, Classed by Gender, and age classes
  3. Recreational, Classed by Gender, and age classes
  4. Competitive, Classed by Gender

Note

Teams are still part of the race. Competitors from any category can be grouped as a 3 racer team to compete for the best combined quess time.

Registration

  • Registration will be online and at a gathering the evening before the race. There will be no Saturday, day of race registrations.
  • The race will be capped at 150 competitors
  • When you register you will either register as a 3 racer team, indicating each racers category, gender and age OR as an individual within the 'competitive' category.

Start Orders

  • Racers will run grouped by category. Starting with Mini Schuss, Snowboard, Recreational and finally competitive.
  • Within each category a random start order will be assigned along with a corresponding Bib.
  • Gender and age group will not be part of the start order assignment.

Results

Awards will be much the same as previous years, with

  • Team closest to their guess time
  • Award group prizes, fastest, top three
  • Faster time and radar
